South Korea Praises India’s G20 Leadership, Sees Future Global Role

South Korean Ambassador Chang Jae-bok commended India’s leadership at the G20 summit, asserting that India has demonstrated its readiness to become a “global leader in the future.” He acknowledged the necessity of compromise in achieving consensus among G20 members, including Russia and China. The New Delhi Declaration, adopted unanimously, refrained from direct criticism of Russia’s actions in Ukraine, a departure from the previous year’s declaration. Despite criticism, India defended the change in language, citing developments since the Bali Declaration. Ambassador Jae-bok also lauded India’s hosting and the G20’s focus on addressing global challenges.
