India’s maiden solar mission, Aditya-L1, achieved another milestone as it completed its third successful earth-bound manoeuvre. The satellite, launched on September 2, aims to study the Sun’s outer atmosphere and its impact on space weather. Aditya-L1 will perform a total of five orbit manoeuvres, with the fourth scheduled for September 15, 2023. This strategic positioning in a halo orbit around Lagrangian Point 1 allows the satellite to continuously observe the Sun without eclipses, providing real-time data for scientists to deepen their understanding of solar activities and space weather drivers.
